what is Myofascial Release?
Myofascial release (MFR) is a form of manual massage therapy that began in the U.S. during the mid 20th century. It was developed from what was then a newly-formed field called orthopedics and a newly-recognized organ called fascia, more commonly known as connective tissue, sometimes referred to as scar tissue.
What is The SOHM Method?
At The Massage Cottage, Melissa Derbyshire practices a form of MFR that she developed herself over years for a variety of client needs. It provides a much gentler experience than other popular approaches to MFR, resulting in less pain and better results. Melissa now teaches these techniques by the name of “The SOHM Method” at the School of Holistic Massage and others.
